ED U SHOULD OF PUT UP A SIGN BEWARE OF WIFE!!!!! AFTER DIVORCE BEWARE OF EX-WIFE LOL In a message dated 12/30/2014 2:48:24 P.M. When I moved 12 years ago to where I live now I have NO signs posted except for my security house signs. How many out there in shepherd-land have "Beware of Dog" signs or other such warnings on your property? The reason I ask is that recently in one of my horse magazines I read of a case where a "Don't Touch The Horses" sign at a farm in CT helped prove a prosecutor's (vicious horse) case. A small boy was held up by his father to pet a horse inside a paddock, despite the prominent sign on the fence telling people not to do this. The boy was bitten in the cheek and required several surgeries and is scarred for life. (Naturally, as human beings we feel terrible for this boy.) The parents sued AND WON. The prosecutor argued that THE SIGN meant that the owners of the farm KNEW their horses could act in a vicious manner. This has troubled me ever since I read it. Years ago, I remember an attorney giving a talk about "signs" at a dog club. She said that under no circumstances should any kennel or dog facility put up Beware of Dog signs, as the sign would be acknowledging there could be a possible problem. I post no signs. I've luckily never had an issue. How do the rest of you feel? Penny in NC The Farm Dog Forever Plum My Guardian
