How many shows have you gone to & wondered where a certain dog was on Saturday, because you didn't even notice him, but on Sunday you couldn't keep your eyes off him ? Good dogs have their "off days" and average dogs seem to shine on certain days. I know if they have the structure you can usually see it, but dogs do have bad days . If a dog is not using what they have it is hard, even for a very knowledgeable judge to "give" it to that dog on that day. I think it is a "Show". ************************************************************************ Exactly. I bet every judge has put up an animal then later on see that animals who is not having a good day and say " what was I thinking when I put that one up"? I know I have and some I have seen more than once and ask that question to myself more than once. I don't admitting and I would find it hard to believe other judges don't go through these thoughts.
