I agree with Mary....Go to Care.com and you will find a lot of pet sitters
(seems to be a cottage industry for middle aged women these days). Of course
you will have to do the intorductions and pre-training, but it is well worth

Rather than board your dogs at the vet's office
or at a boarding kennel, check with your doggie friends if
someone could board them for you at their place. When
I leave town I have an in-house sitter stay with mine. My
dogs then don't pick up any problems from other peoples
dogs that are in a vet clinic or a boarding kennel.

Wanted to not get my dog shots any more except for rabies
and bordetella. But was told if I board the dog (which I am
for two days), he has to have all his shots. He is up to
date until May 10th and then has to have distemper etc.
after that. My vet alternates the years so he ends up
getting them every other year. I don't think he needs
them anymore at his age and he rarely goes anywhere.
I've read that it isn't necessary and I'd like
to show my vet. I may have to resort to titers. I would
just skip it but if I ever have to board, it is either
titers or get the shots it looks like. Any ideas?
