While Service Dogs do indeed do many physical things for people, you need
to remember there are also Emotional Support Dogs too. Some are used for
returning veterans who have Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, and other
people of course, with a variety of issues.
One of the huge benefits to a service dog is its an "ice-breaker" . Many
people feel unsure what to say to someone who is disabled, but they can
talk about the dog and feel on safe ground.
