[ SHOWGSD-L ] Separation Anxiety Remedies

Anyone have any natural remedies that has worked for separation anxiety? I  
have a friend that has a 5 year old neutered male GSD. He grew up with their  
female dalmation. The dalmation passed away 2 years ago and the GSD was very  
depressed. They added a 4 month old female GSD pup to their pack a year ago and 
 the male was once again happy. Over the past 6 mos or so, this dog has been  
becoming increasingly anxious when left. He is rarely home alone, my friend 
has  2 toddler children and her babysitter comes to the house, so the dog has 
human  company all day. If they go out of town, she has a housesitter there 
24/7 for  the dogs, he is never kenneled. However, he has broken out of 3 
crates 
now and  just this past weekend chewed up her brand new shutters on her front 
windows  when left home for a couple of hours (in the brand new crate #3 that 
he once  again found a way out of).
 
Anyway, since this list is such a wonderful source of knowledge, I told her  
I would ask if anyone knows of anything natural that she could give this boy 
to  calm him when she has to leave him. She loves her boy and he is a good dog  
otherwise, great with her kids and obedient, just having issues when left  
alone.
