This is such a nice topic. I will share some National memories. I went to the 
first National held in Perry, Georgia. I went to help with stock handling for 
the first National Herding Trial. I was walking from the main building back to 
the barn area when I spotted a big, black and red dog being walked by a 
familiar handler.
He had a gorgeous head, with the tip of his right ear notched, and these 
red/gold eyes in a black face.
I said his name, and went to one knee. He wagged his tail, and pulled his 
handler to me, and put his head in my arms. He knew someone who loved him, and 
responded. What a guy! ( GV Quik)
At that same National I met, and had hands on Nancy Harper's Lothario, and saw 
one of his daughters
who stole my heart herding sheep, Ch. Cardinal Sin O Firethorn, and it was the 
first year that the Stallion named Uzi went Grand Victor.I remember watching 
the Herding Victor, Dussel working his sheep with his head at a weird angle due 
to a prior stroke, and doing it while his handler stood in one spot guiding him 
by whistle alone.. Priceless memory My favorite National.
Hope others share their memories of Nationals. Love reading them.
