RE: All-breed vs. Specialty To say that the best dogs don't do all-breed shows is ridiculous. I have stated on this list in the past that I have judged several dogs and Bitches who went on to become Select animals, sometimes more than one time.......and I judged them while they were in the classes at various all-breed shows......to name just a few: Conan, Indy, Spellbinder, some of the Ardric dogs, Madeb's Hellraiser (who went on to Canadian GVX), Final Fantasy, and others. I've had others there, too...and sometimes they didn't win. They didn't always win at specialties, either. Every judge makes mistakes. No judge is perfect. Every dog has a bad day. No dog is perfect. But people will always look for an excuse. There ARE some good judges who judge at all-breeds. There ARE some breed specialist judges whose opinions aren't worth the entry fee. You pays your money and you takes your choice. If you don't take your best to the all-breed shows sometimes, shame on you.
