THANK YOU Linda Bankhead.....a Board member that realizes there are MEMBERS out
there and takes the time to engage in a conversation and some answers. Most
of us know the responsibility of being a Board member and an exhibitor,
breeder, and
a person with a whole other life. We all pretty much ALL face the same
problems in our daily busy lives.
SURELY even Board members that forget there is a membership ALL OVER the U.S.
that pays membership dues.... realizes that the way this Board is throwing
money down a 'hidey hole' KNOWS that there is an UNFORSEEN FUTURE in demanding
we have $583,000.00 BALANCE again!!! In other words, St. Louis forever!!
The Board MUST back away from that vote to keep any kind of a Western
membership involved and paying. It will become GSDC.EAST, Inc.
I for one truly appreciate you Linda, and your open and public response! We
will not throw an entire Board under the bus with a broad paint brush when we
are given some response and answers on how they vote for something that affects
all of us! We will be as fair to the Board as they are to all of us
....<G>....and to keep the National in St. Louis at Purina is throwing many
exhibitors under the same bus with no real answers on how they voted as
individuals. Until we hear how the vote went....we can only refer
our complaints to "the Board".
THANK YOU for being an actual Board member that recognizes a membership!!

Showlist Subject: Screaming out loud (ha ha)
Sorry; this is long but necessary to get back on track.
At The July BOD meeting the following motion was presented by Larry Rock. "I
move the German Shepherd Dog Club of America holds it's National Specialty
Shows at The Purina Show site in Gray Summit, Missouri from 2018 onward until
such time as the member's net asset position is at or above the 2009 level of
$583,000." Motion passed.
I voted "no" and also suggested that we set a budget; allowing The GSDCA to
continue to look for show sites on the West and East Coast that meet the budget
and P & P criteria.
I FULLY PLAN to bring this back up at The JANUARY meeting (new BOD); and turn
the decision to stay at Purina on it's head.
I HIGHLY recommend that members take the initiative and look for sites that we
can afford and meet the criteria necessary. Changing the P & P is not the
problem; we first need to reverse the decision made at the last BOD. If members
would do some homework and provide some alternatives; this would be a BIG help
in January. It is obvious that we need to be looking years ahead to reserve
show sites on the West and East Coast.
I hope this helps.
I will also add that throwing every BOD under the bus with a broad paint brush
stroke is unfair.
Feel free to call me if you have any questions on how I voted. 404-936-5136.
