[ SHOWGSD-L ] SchH vs. P.D. K-9 units

I have a very good friend in SchH. This person has titled a number of GSDs
at this time in that club. I remember reading on the chat from Ed about this
a few days ago: LONG BEACH, CA - A 20-year-old man was being treated for
serious but non-life-threatening injuries Monday after being attacked in
Eastvale in Riverside County by a German shepherd that turns out to have
been a retired Long Beach Police Department police dog.
The Riverside County Department of Animal Services says the man saw the dog
wandering loose shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday and brought the animal a bowl
of water on Ruby Giant Court, just off Prairie Smoke Road.
After drinking it, the dog put its front paws on the man's chest but then
attacked him, biting his left bicep area, his left leg and ankle, then
dragged him into the street, according to Animal Services. The man's
relatives and friends tried punching and kicking the dog so it would release
him, and some men stabbed the dog with steak knives, a statement said.
Now, whatever possessed that dog to do that we'll probably never know? I
shared this happening with my SchH friend. This is what this person wrote
back. I didn't realize.
There's a lot of rivalry between us, SchH and the P.D K-9 units. I feel
that that most of the police departments don't have control over their dogs.
A SchH dog must have the temperament to being a group of children and play
as well as being tough when needed.
When we say to let go, the dogs let go! When police dogs are told to let go,
they have problems most of the time. Whether it's all about the dog, or its
handler in what he/she knows.
The cops think we're inferior and we think they are inferior. SchH person
