I hate to bring bad news Carolyn, not true anymore. I called a large
(LARGE!) vet hospital that I use to run progesterone. Natural breeding,
scheduled a B/C, V/C and baseline progesterone. Lot of furrowed brows, calls
back
and forth. they could do the B/C and progesterone, all that required was
a blood draw, not the V/C. NOT ONE OF THE SIX VETS or any of the dozens of
techs could do a guarded culture! (i offered). Basically they don't want
to do repro work.
I thought it was just me. A week later Mr. Cheeks called an equally large
vet hospital a few towns over. Never did get his V/C done, only one of
their vets "could" do and she was off.

It is so simple.
They send the sample to one of the Labs.......and wait for the results....
and call you with the results.
How easy is that? The Postal service and a Lab takes care of almost
everything..... <G>
There can be varying opinions on the results.......but our Repro Vet we
used for years would not
recommend breeding any dog or bitch at 2+ or over for
mycoplasma.....without treatment first.
I cannot even begin to understand why a Vet would REFUSE to do the test
for you. I can understand
varying opinions on treatment, breeding, etc........but I cannot
understand refusing to do the test for you
pre-breeding.
