It started out as a great day, another California summer morning. It was 68,
the sun was out, (and we are an hour earlier) and the birds were singing. I
missed the exit, and was looking at the biggest Mexican flag, I have ever
seen. We pulled off, at the border, got back on the freeway and made it to the
park.
Liz Lesshorn brought Robert this morning, and the Philliponts are here,
Jackie and Tom. They still think I should give them back the raffle money.
Maybe
they donâ??t understand how Jews are about money. I was sitting with Dave
Coleman for a bit, and I see Richard Sottile talking to Bill Basu, and Liz is
over there too. Ann Thompson is standing the Terry Cochran talking to a K9
police officer who stopped by to see the show. Jack Newton is here with
MaryLou,
and he looks better than he has in years. I did talk to him and he is
feeling great. I miss Tom and Vivian, the shows are not the same without them.
Vivian always has a laugh, and Tom will give us a story of the old days, and
it
hurts that I remember them.
The Catalogue has the Pacific Coast Victors and Victrixs in it, and there is
Ch. Asgardâ??s Paper Chase, (1987), Ch. Howardâ??s Retrace, ((1977), Ch.
Asgardâ??
s Lethel Weapon, (1996) and Ch Asgardâ??s Big Deal of Encore, (1996). Then I
see the great Dakota son, Hy Jack, the great Mark, Phantom, Ovante, Angeleque,
Portrait, (who won it twice), and of course Crusador, the sire of
Dragonslayer, Dakota and Destiny as well as On Broadway, who is also in the
list.
Sharlona is picking up ;arm bands, Cindy Tellefson and Bev are here, I see
the Funks came back to try again, and Paula Cook allowed me to hug Harley
Davidson again. Any day that starts wituh Harley is a good day for me.
The sun is now under a clowd, they are talking about rain, but so far it is
just about ten degrees cooler, and the show begins.

The rain began and the only time the sun was out was when I was in the ring
with Jill. Then it began to rain harder, and we all got under the tent. I
loved seeing the look on Paulaâ??s face when Harley went Best of Winners for
his
first major. He has all his point, and needs but a major to finish. He is
such a solid dog, and will be Paulaâ??s first male American champion.
We are back on the road, and the rain is gone. It might be just a thing from
Mexico, they are causing us so much trouble in California, maybe the rain is
but another problem they are bringing.
Jack did his usual great job, and it is always fun to watch him judge.
Everyone seemed to have a good time, and now next week is the four show
weekend,
then the Long Beach Orange Coast shows, Arizona, and a nervous breakdown. I
try to plan ahead. Ten hours on the road is a bit too much for me on a
weekend, and next weekend because I have to work, I will fly in Saturday
morning.
Thatâ??s my story, and I am sticking to it.
I have fun again today, was in the ring feeling stronger every time. More
from Sacramento in but a week.
