I almost lost one of the pups to a reaction to the wormer (it is, after all a type of poison). I never wormed again unless the pups showed positive for worms. I would have them tested at 6,9, 12 & 16 weeks. If the mother is negative, the pups should be born without worms. I have been lucky & have very, very seldom had to give these young babies wormer medication.
