Just curious. Kathy, who hates how much room the airline crates take up in the van, lol ================================================================= Hi Kathy, Actually, the old Kennel-Aire Commander crates were extremely sturdy - much more so than the plastic crates currently produced by Vari-Kennel and others. However, most of the current wire crates are poorly made with much softer gauge wire, wide spacing and with a cheaply made locking mechanism. I do like the wire crates because of the greater air flow and the dog's ability to see their surroundings. I have received a tip that the old Kennel-Aire company is still producing their wonderful crates - I am in pursue of a contact and price listing and will pass on to others what I have found. We, old timers, are always delighted to find the excellent quality products that we enjoyed for many years. Thanks guys....
