I don't know that I could deal full time with any other breed than the GSD. 
Not now.  They have stolen my heart and keep on on my toes to try to remain 
the smarter one :-)

That is the way I use to think also.  No other breed for me  certainly not a 
small dog.But I have since learned differently.  Will always be a German 
Shepherd or two (or 9) just because I love them.  But the cardigan has moved 
in and taken over.And no I do not think they are a German Shepherd in a 
small dogs body. They are highly intelligent , opinionated, willing to do 
what ever I want and make me laugh all day long but believe me No German 
Shepherd would ever to do me what Truman does.LOL

And they are the perfect size for me to work with and that is very important 
at this stage of my life
