Thank you for your response. If the world were that simple and all exhibitors
used the new option in the way intended, I would be 100% for it. Again, my only
concern is what I previously stated.. That this will benefit the select few
that can afford to enter and show all over the country and everyone else's
chances for winning Futurities will deminish because those select few will open
up THEIR chances.

Just a quick response because that's all I can do at the moment.
Just keep in mind two things before you worry about all these details.
First, the Futurity Committee can't get involved in all the "bidding wars" and
"big bucks" and games that people play or who is the top handler or a Jr.
Handler.
We are just trying to make the Futurities more 'user friendly' and successful.
Second, this is just an alternative that is available that we are considering.
You do not have to enter two Futurities just because you CAN.
We would like to........but we cannot solve every single problem.
In other words things don't HAVE to change for you and your handler, but you do
"have another choice" that is offered to you. It really is very simple.

( I will also add this to Jeff: IF all these issues are a major concern to you
or anyone else we can
possibly come up with a method or rule that the decision between the Futurities
is made a short
time prior to the first one entered. ) NO pulling the day of the first Futurity
without
forfeiting exhibiting in the second one entered. )

It will only get as complicated as we chose to make it. At this point we are
just trying to make a
great alternative and choice for breeders with young dogs if things go wrong
for a month or so like
terrible limping, shedding, change in judges, family problems, etc...with only
ONE Futurity a year.
It really is very simple.............

These are all good reasons for considering entering multiple Futurities.?? My
fear is that this new change will allow only the top tier or wealthy to enter
their dogs all over the country, show up at Futurity # 1, see who their
competition is, then go on to a different Futurity because they can.? Many
exhibitors cannot afford this.? So, this could turn into a game that allows
only those who can afford it, the luxury of 2nd or 3rd chances at winning
Futurities, while those who cannot "keep up with the Jones's" will fade away
because there is now another tool in place for them not to be able to keep up.?
I am not saying I am totally against this idea.? If it increases entries and
enthusiasm about Futurities then give it a try.? But if what I say above comes
true, that is NOT in the spirit of Futurities or for attracting new people.?

Here are a few of reasons behind the idea.
1) Change of Judge - it has happened including this year
Could be you would not show under the alternate Judge is not right for your
dog/bitch
Your handler might not be able to show under alternate judge.
2) Your Junior Puppy comes up with Pano a few weeks/days before the Futurity
You can wait and go to the later one
3) Your bitch comes in Seaon, has blown coat, looks badly.
You can go to your second choice Futurity when she looks her best.
4) Provides income for Regional Club
5) One does not HAVE TO double enter but can if they so choose.
