I personally do not like percentages in deciding how many selects to award.
As an engineer I totally understand how percentages can be misleading. 10% of
an entry in Utah may be representative out of an entry of 50 Specials.
However, is 10% in New York National with 110 Specials enough.
My friend Lee Brown and I had this discussion at lunch and he likes the 10%
but I don't and above is why. We should let the judge make the call. A few
years ago the ~17 or so selects was probably to much based on my thoughts. But
that judge thought on that day it was the correct number. If you disagree
with that opioion in the future dont cast your vote for that person.
