SC-Spartanburg New animal Ordinance

First reading will be 9/8/08
Limit of five pets, combined. Includes exotics.
No ear cropping or tail docking except by a veterinarian.
Dogs impounded kept only 3 days and then become property of the City.
Increased fees for unspayed/unneutered animals.
Cost to recover unspayed/unneutered animals 1st time $200, 2nd offense $500.
Breeder - multi pet permits with cost determined from "time to time" by
council.
Inspections of all animals and all premises with permits.
16 pages voids the previous ordinance in full. First reading is September
8th. It appears council only requires two readings and should this pass as
is, will become effective Jan. 1, 2009.
