It is really good to do both. Swimming tones different muscles that
running. Being low impact, it helps the dog learn HOW to move their
legs properly. I have had puppies at time that just could not seem
to get it together on the ground, but learned their footing in the
pool. Also, it is a great way for a dog with Pano to exercise
without impact and pain.
Running put a firmer finish on the dog. In this heat, run a little,
swim a lot!
