As a Texan in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, if you can avoid the Houston traffic
in an 5th wheel or RV, I'd do it! We will be in our RV and are planning to go
cross country! Will probably make a left turn around Huntsville. BTW, nice
prison in Huntsville, don't pick up hitchhikers wearing cute orange jumpsuits!

I-35 takes me 100 miles out of my way but I'm leary of those "backroads". :o)
