I don't understand the reason of an amateur futurity
I believe that the futurity competition was created for that breeders can
show their litters in each region,this is only a big FUN MATCH... important
but non official,Why create an amateur categorie????
Every owner or other people that are able to show a dog can show in the
futurity NO??????It is not a big handler business in my opinion.....but an
excellent window for the breeders to show their progeny of the year.
Is it only a big ribbon business????? or a big money story???????
I hope not,judges are honest and thjey look at all the teams in the futuriy
or show rings,and they consider them the same way and I want to believe that
............... if not why do some nice litters??????????????????????
This is my opinion,A good dog is a good dog and if he is well shown the
judges will see his qualities.
so why an amateur category?

Inserting a class into the regular futurity, was my opinion of the situation
at the time this whole thing was brought up, either that or make the whole
futurity system amateur (clearly not an option), so the second best to
improve the feasibility of the futurity would have been an Amateur Class,
competing for the regular big futurity win. Maybe a "best Amateur" win at
the regional level (with a sponsored big prize) with no other competition at
the national level might have been a good idea. But mandatory? Clubs who
have been awarded a futurity based upon a contract and now are "forced" into
this Amateur show, may want to consider looking into whether or not it's
enforceable considering there have been changes to the agreement without
their written consent.
