Yes this of course should be how we handle the review for now, lower the cost
of advertising(say for a year or two). Our dues, should be covering quite a bit
of the cost, and I would also argue the review(either print or web) should be
the primary communication vehicle for the club and profit should not be high on
the list tho the club can't go broke producing it either.
And I thought I was done. ;-)

i absolutely agree, evan. this argument goes on from the regional club
level to the parent club. this is definitely a NFP venture and should be
recognized as such. i guess my point was that, if the GSDCA board feels that
the Review should not be a financial drain on the club's treasury (and i am
NOT saying that it has been), then they need to find a way to make
advertising more affordable for the majority - that will increase ad revenue
which
will allow for more "free" pages which will make the review more
informative and more widely read which will be an incentive for more people to
advertise and yadda yadda yadda.
