Don't put words in my mouth, Kathaleen. I don't know how you get your interpretation from what I wrote..........I didn't say a thing about judging or judges. >>>>>>>What part of : "I'm using this post as a stepping stone" did you misinterpret -- which generally means taking it a bit further than what the writer wrote. There is no "interpretation" of what you wrote, I was fully cognizant of what you were saying --- I merely took it a bit further! Good grief. However, if you insist, then you tell me why people advertise, if not to let everyone else, including judges, know about their dogs? Why do people brag on the list about their wins? My personal experience is that people like to look at their OWN ads...but not if they are messed up.... >>>I think I clearly outlined the same thing -- why people would advertise -- but if you look at the clear trend in this club -- the issue prior to the National is generally 2 or 3 x as large as the rest of the months -- not with editorial or article content -- but advertising content -- It would seem to make sense that these advertisements were there to hopefully "influence" the judge. In recent years, I think it's actually done the trick -- but then I already had the opinion that the idjit quotient was pretty high for some of these officials anyway. <EG> Perhaps you have never paid for an advertisement, or had one messed up, either with incorrect spelling, bad placement, or just not handled well...or perhaps you do not advertise at all. Until that happens to you, you know what you can do with that stepping stone. Peggy >>>Again, I guess you did not fully read what I wrote and understand that my post also included the facts that I had also advertised in the past and gave my reasons. I also have had ads that were poorly placed (early on, I could be guaranteed that no matter when my ad got in, it would be the last one). I've also had ads that were screwed up and the thing that used to make me insane -- was when I had ads in certain issues and the Review came out LATE. I hope our new Editor can keep her current trend up and keep the Review coming out on time == and maybe I can get back to my dreamland of the Review coming out at the first of the Month... like we used to. In any event, since I seem to aggravate you by quoting your posts -- even if I use them only as a stepping stone -- I will no longer do so.
