I feel that by refunding money, for almost any reason, pays off later. I
know many people who have returned dogs, (actually it seldom happens) and get
their money back, end up buying a dog later, or sending others to us. I have
found the old saying about casting bread on the waters is true.,
You get lots of soggy bread, and make a lot of ducks happy.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
