News about the Retail Pet Store Rule… It was 'released" from the OMB today… a
final step before it gets published and is a "RULE."
USDA/APHIS Release "RETAIL PET RULE" back to APHIS to be published.
Okay, this seem like the real deal. I confirmed this from a couple of good
sources. Brent Gattis is a lobbyist and was employed by the U.S. House of
Representatives Agricultural Committee for nearly a decade before becoming a
lobbyist for Ringling. It appears that he is now a lobbyist for the American
Federation of Aviculture.
It is also a practice for USDA, OMB, to release these on Fridays.

Today the Office of Managment & Budget (OMB) released the "Retail Pet Rule"
back to the Agency to be published. That could happen as soon as Monday. We
won't know what the Final Rule looks like until they publish it. I will keep
everyone informed.

related regulations to bring more pet animals sold at retail under the
protection of the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). Retail pet stores are not required
