Hell, mine can hear a mouse fart at five miles away! So a clicker would

It is operant conditioning, the same method of training they use at Sea
World. You can't put a choke chain or a prong collar on a dolphin or a
killer whale. In this method both the dog and the owner have to think. The
dogs I've trained seem to enjoy it and I like it very much, so much, that I
won't ever go back to the traditional training methods. It is facinating to
watch how quickly a puppy responds to this method. If you're interested,
read The Dog and the Dolphin by Karen Pryor or go to Shirley Chong's web
site. You guys don't call people running around the conformation ring with
bells and whistles screaming their dog's name standing on your head to get a
good performance? And before anyone says anything, yes, I do show in
conformation.
