Based on how standards read, dogs can have beautiful/correct sidegaits without being good on either end. In many cases, the thing that allows for beautiful, reaching, flexible sidegaits is the thing that can hurt one end or the other on a dog. Also, when you are looking at sidegaits, dogs usually are gaited much faster (no matter the breed) and it is hard to judge actual end faults from the side.... Next time you go to a show - either specialty or all-breed and watch dogs (in the case of all-breeds, not just GSDs) - I bet if you pick out the dogs with correct sidegaits, most will be off on one end or the other. Faults of gait, whether from front, rear or side, are to be considered very serious faults. _________________________________________________________________ Stay in touch when you're away with Windows Live Messenger. http://www.windowslive.com/messenger/overview.html?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_messenger2_072008 ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2007.
