This has been a very sad week for our family, my son had to make the decision
we all dread for his Zoie, (she was 12 years young)...she had always been the
love of his family and she them...she was totally their dog, they got her from
me when she was about 9 months (I had co-owned her and she was returned to me)
and it was love at first sight for both the dog and my son & his wife...I
didn't plan on Zoie going anywhere once I got her home...but I could see that
she was theirs and they were hers...so she went to live with Todd & Heather.
She went everywhere with them and when it came time to pick a boy puppy...guess
what, she did the choosing...then when the new baby girl came along, she took
over too...always loving, tolerent, and protective of my granddaughter and her
friends...she was taught hand signals when my tiny granddaughter was 2, so
Kiersten cold become her master, too...3 years ago she welcomed a little
papallion into her home without any fuss...a year ago her spleen torsioned and
she surprised vets that she made it through...however, a month ago they
discovered a large growth in the spot the spleen had occupied...they tried drug
therpy to no avail...then last week they found another growth on her spine that
got very large very fast...cancer, it had spread through out her body, and she
knew it was time to say "good bye", she crawled into my son's lap and looked at
him and he knew...Zoie was the perfect GSD...Temperment, brains, and she was
beautiful...she was granddaughter to Uzi and Prosecutor...best of all she was
totally loved and Zoie totally loved her family back. What a Great Dog!!!!
Rest in Peace Zoe, we know that you will be waiting for your family at the
Bridge, run free and play ball...and chase the bunnies once in while...Love,
Grandma....
