I guess the consensus is that we members are  not customers of the Board, and 
we ARE the GSDCA.  I know how hard the Board and the Committees work and I know 
that the membership appreciates that.  But, as Molly pointed out, we give the 
direction and the Board follows our direction, not the other way around.  
There is LOTS of legislation popping across the country and in the Federal 
arena today, so I'll leave this  now.   Some changes in some of the National 
Organizations that are interesting.  I'll be posting more on the GSDCA - 
Legislation Aware Facebook page in a while for you all to check out.

preferred politicians.  We elect the Board to represent us, trusting them to 
abide by the membership wishes.  Therefore the membership is not the customer, 
the dues and event fees can be equated to taxes to support the club.  I'm aware 
that the big difference is that the Board is voluntary and does not draw a 
salary, but the premise except for that is the same as our government.  We are 
not customers.  Perhaps we could consider it as in the national level, the 
government works for We The People, with the analogy of the Board being unpaid 
interns working for the membership/employer.

Been sitting on some thoughts about all of this since the meeting. Yes I� 
attended - 14 hours on the phone over 2 days. Huge cauliflower ear! LOL

Have read a few answers.......I am definitely not a customer, nor am I a� 
consistent.� Since the members OWN the club, I consider myself to be a 
part� 
owner� 1/2500 of the club.� Small amount, but a voice� regardless.

I was particularly disturbed when there was a discussion about putting� 
something out to the members for a vote....then a board member stated if 
they� 
did not like how the members voted the board would overturn the decision as 
they� had the right to do so!� � 
WHAT!!!!!!!!!??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a bit far off but heard a discussion between 2 officers where one� 
said that could be done, the other said no way.� One of them is a member 
of� 
the parliamentary society. Yes, the one arguing vehemently can't be done.

There is NO WAY members of the board that this is going to happen......� 
that would be a very fierce fight and I really don't think we need this type 
of� divisiveness again. 

A bit of power apparently can be a dangerous thing for some.� The� board is 
only the tail.
