You can find Boric Acid all over the place - it's used to kill bugs.
I checked - it's the same stuff that the pharmacist orders for you, but a
lot less expensive.
Look in the insecticide section.
The Gentian violet - got that at CVS if you have one of those - they
routinely carry it, but it's hard to find - I ended up asking for it.
One thing - that Gentian violet STAINS so be careful with it - open and mix
it over the sink, or outside.
Stains your skin too - I wear latex gloves when administering it.
Stains your dog too - can't use it if you're going to show soon unless you
like the glowing purple ear look. :)
I love the stuff though - I just treated a really bad case of yeasty ears
with it. Knocked it right out.

I live in PA. The Gentian Violet was ordered for me through Giant Eagle
Pharmacy. Boric Acid was found at Rite Aid. That is a drug store.
