What we always do as do lots of the other regional clubs is have the members
get in touch with their puppy buyers and invite them to the specialty - tell
you what - 9 times out of 10, they bring a friend or two with them..... Helps
spread the word and you get to check up on the "kids" at the same time.
We ran a Craigslist ad last year and it was WONDERFUL.. Many of our all-breed
shows have "Meet the Breeds" and it is really good for the dogs...
Can I also make a suggestion - when you are at shows, doing nothing - get a dog
out and walk around and let the public meet the dogs... We had big all-breeds
this last weekend and when I wasn't busy, I had Pauli the pup out for the
visibilty (and her socializing).. You can't believe all the folks that stopped
by to talk to the brown Dalmatian and couldn't believe she was so calm (they
haven't seen her at home)...
