Listers & Ed ---  I had talked to my Vet Tech GrandDaughter in Colorado about 
this odd ailment --
It's a new one on me, so I wanted to know all I could, if possible --  Here is 
her response.
Don't you just LOVE the last sentence about   A LOT OF SNOW BEING -- very very 
exciting!
Well, that's ski country and she loves snoboarding    ---  ETC.   Just wanted

Grandma,
Hope all is well, yes AIHA is a weird disease and we don't know why it happens. 
As with all autoimmune diseases, 
we aren't really sure what causes the body to start attacking its own red blood 
cells. There is not a real cure;-just 
transfusions to get them over the blood loss and hopefully, some fresh new 
cells that the body won't attack. 
Unfortunately, like cancer, and many other terrible diseases we can't know 
exactly why -- who gets it.
We have gotten a lot of snow up here and it is very very exciting. Talk to you
