I am still agonizing over a puppy that I placed several months ago.
Although I spent
many hundreds of dollars on tests and then finally on a post mortem, nothing
conclusive was established and I am still at a loss to know why this
happened to this
beautiful sweet boy.

He was given his 4 way Booster at 3 months of age. Then, one week later,
because he
was going into the U.S., he was given his Rabies shot. Three days later
he left for his
new home and two days later began having seizures. I went and picked him
up and
brought him home and took him to my vet who ran both blood tests and urine
tests
on him which were sent off to the lab. His seizures initially were very
minor and short-lived and he bounced back to normal. After several days of
this, he
went a full TEN days without a seizure, then suddenly they started up again,
but this
time were very violent and he was totally disoriented for some time after.
After several
days of watching him, I called my vet and when she saw his condition - he
had become
a 'vegetable', she agreed that he should be put to sleep. At this time he
was just barely
4 months old. As I said, she did a post mortem and sent the necessary to
the lab -
brain, liver, whatever. Nothing conclusive ever came of all of this.
Probably one of
the most frustrating things I have dealt with in 26 years of breeding. I
just went into
that b-naturals web site and found some disturbing information there.

If anyone has any thoughts at all I would love to hear them.
