I have talked to Randy C.  once at a National....love the Guy....but the first 
time I saw him judge he put up a 9-12 puppy male BOB at a specialty show years 
ago when specialty shows were much larger than they are now,,,I said to 
myself....that guy has guts......well that guy judges dogs and does what HE 
thinks is right!...I'd love to see him judge a National....too bad I won't get 
to vote for him....Ed

I have always had, and always will have great admiration for Randy.   He is 
a bright competent and avid supporter of our breed.  He is one of our   
members who understands what is going on, and one of those I am proud to be 
able 
 to call a friend. 
  
I often do not make myself as clear as could be done with this  media.    I 
used Randy's post only to point out that leaving the  problem will not 
solve it.  I too am not pleased with some of the things  done by our board 
and 
do not like that the same people run the club over and  over and get elected 
to judge the National every year.    But, I  do recognize that the 
membership elects them, and I always do respect those  who  care enough to 
vote. 
  
People like Randy are why our club does continue to exist and why our breed 
 is still strong and our reputation intact.  I have tried for three years 
to  get Randy to judge the National and for three years I have failed.  Not 
by  anything he has done, but by my inability to get the message out there 
that we  need new people and we need them to help strengthen our club. 
  
But, I want to keep trying. I don't want to throw in the towel and I sure   
don't want to lose the members who some day may help to bring about  change. 
  
What I have always tried to say is that the fight is not over. I ran twice   
for President of this club and was twice defeated.  That was the decision   
of the voters who voted for Dan Smith and Lew Bunch, two very good men who   
have dedicated themselves to our club.  That was the decision of the   
membership, and they should and must be heard. 
  
I haven't given up on the GSDCA and I would hope others would not either.   
And, if Randy will allow me to do it again, I will try, with your help, to 
elect  him to judge in 2013. 
  
There are few I respect more than Randy or Ed. Don't quit, fight  harder. 
  
And, after all those noble words, let me be clear. I will never again be on 
 the board. But, I will always support anyone else who is strong enough to 
do  so.  I also stand behind the membership who do vote, and the decisions 
that  they give to us.
