My daughter followed in my footsteps (may need a psychiatrist) and became a
police officer for several years before giving it up to get married. I loved
to tell people who asked how she was doing but didn't know of her job.....
"Well, she is, how can I say it.... She has just changed. She is staying out
all night, hanging around with criminals and drug addicts, and she is now
carrying a gun!" I'd always get an "I'm so sorry to hear this...." kind of
reaction to which I'd add, "Oh, I forgot to add, she also wears a badge!:
OK, not all of our sense' of humor are equal!.
