Long time no talk (EPI list)
I just had a 17 month male xrayed for his hips and elbows in order to send
to the SV for certification for breeding. The hips were excellent.
Unfortunately, the elbows both showed UAP. He had never had a lame day in
his life. There was no evidence of elbow problems in his pedigree and the
balance of the litter has not shown evidence of UAP YET.
He had not shown any evidence of Pano. This is a high drive young male who
I babied through his first 1.6 years in order to ensure that he would clear
his rads (no agility, no IPO, no jumping of any kind).
Because of the severity of the separation of the anconeal process, we
elected to have it repaired BEFORE arthritis sets in and the joint is
unsaveable. He had lag screws installed in each joint and a distal
osteotomy performed to relieve pressure on the process while it healed. We
are in are second week of recovery and I have a young stallion (neutered
also at the same time) raring to go. I can let you know in a few years how
he progresses.

2) had that same dog had PANO?
