Hi Pat,
  I wonder if the puppy had coccidia and the vet misdiagnosed it for parvo 
with the diarrhea? Since this can have mucus in the stool and sometimes does 
have a bad smell. Some puppies get this right after they leave with the stress 
of 
a new home for some reason. Just a thought!!
