I am going to attempt to answer multiple posts at once.Since when are award
criteria based on who spends the most money on a dog or who does the most work?
Typically breed clubs such as the GSDCA are developed by breeders who have
decided to create an organization to foster and promote the betterment of the
breed through thoughtful, selective breeding.Along with this comes the idea
that awards should be given to those club members who have demonstrated through
their breeding programs the essence of what the breed club was established
for..which was..you guessed it..to promote and foster the betterment of the
breed through selective breeding. I am not opposed to a policy that reads "in
order for the dog to recieve the award, either the breeder or owner has to be a
GSDCA member. If a GSDCA member breeds a dog/bitch then sells it to a
non-member and they have the brains to orchestrate the breedings to get an ROM,
the DOG should ge the award, this recognizes the GSDCA member/breeder and the
dog. If a non-GSDCA member breeds a dog and sells it to a GSDCA member and that
member has the brains to breed the dog and meet the requirements for an ROM,
then the DOG should get the award and the GSDCA member/owner should be
recognized. In each scenario GSDCA members and the dog would recieve the award.
