Puppy has runny (but not watery) diarrhea and had vomitted a couple of times
last night and once this morning - vet gave her a liter of sub-cute fluids,
she's on meds, he says no food for 36 hours - I'd like to give her a bit of
Pedialyte but don't know if this constitutes "food" or not (it has glucose in
it) - he said she could have small amounts of water frequently, which she has
been doing with no problems. The blood panel was normal except for her
electrolytes were a bit low (she'd not eaten or drank much so he said that was
normal) I can't get ahold of the vet now b/c it's after hours and I'd have to
call the emergency vet - I don't think this is that big of an issue to call the
emergency vet, so I thought I would ask for input from the list - any input
would be appreciated on whether or not I could give her some of this now, or I
should wait until the 36 hours has passed and just give her regular water until
then - thanks!!
