I have a six year old female that was born with megaesphagus. She had a
barium test at six weeks of age. The vet wanted to put her down and one of the
girls at the vet asked if she could take her home. She had her for about five
weeks and fed her small meals and then would hold her up so the food would go
down. She gave her back to me and I fed her on a doggie diner and she has not
shown any signs of mega since she was twelve weeks old. At home she still
eats from her diner. If we go to a dog show or someplace (she goes everywhere
that I go) she eats in a bowl on the floor just like the other dogs. She also
suffers from E.P.I. and has been on Viocase for three years. She gains weight
really easy and gets too heavy and that also is not a normal thing for a mega
or a E.P.I. dog. She was spayed three years ago. She is a great dog and I
would not trade her for all the money in the world.
