For God's sakes, DON'T SHOW HER until you get this solved!
Now, before you know how to solve it, you need to be honest about if you
think she is actually fearful or if she is being tough. If she's fearful, you
have to get her out, socialize the heck out of her without condoning her
behavior. A quick "no" still needs to happen if she displays any growling
though.
If it doesn't improve, place her in a stable home where she will have
interaction with only "her" people.
Now, if she's being tough, then you have to set her up at puppy class and
have a "come to Jesus" meeting that she won't soon forget. It is NEVER
acceptable to growl! But, like I said, you have to be honest about what her
issues are because if she really is scared, then setting her up and standing
her
on her head <G> isn't the way to go.
