I agree with you Penny, NOOO would be the answer. Showing dogs is an aside,
something
that we can live without, in the grand scheme of things. We (as dog
fanciers) covet the ribbons
and the Championships and the like for OUR sakes...not theirs. It is fun,
it is exciting, and I love seeing
our friends, but it is not WHY we are involved in the breed. Love of the
breed and it's preservation, and
appreciation of it for it's many and varied talents, is what got most of us
, into the breed..I would assume? It is what
keeps us in the breed.
Not showing.
For us, it is the day to day enjoyment of our dogs, that makes them special,
not just what they have won.
Regardless how long they live, it is never long enough. They are our
friends, not objects.
I wouldn't trade all the ribbons and Championships in the world, for the
daily love and happiness our dogs bring to us.
When they go...they take a piece of our hearts and souls with them, all too
soon.
But that is just us.
