This is what it says in the Jan. 2007 Minutes:
"Lew addressed the issue of the composition of the Executive Committee for
2007. He asked that the same committee members be appointed for the current
year. Kris Fasano, Carmen Battaglia, Bill Pfeiffer, Gary Szymczak. Tish
Walker objected, stating that the President could not nominate the Executive
Committee. Accordingly the floor was opened for nominations.
Dania Karloff nominated Kris Fasano, Carmen Battaglia, Bill Pfeiffer, Gary
Szymczak. The motion was seconded. No other nominations were made. Paul
Root moved that nominations cease and that the question be called. The motion
was seconded.
On vote, none were opposed, according the motion carried."
The Executive Committee was approved. According to the by-laws the
President cannot appoint his Executive Committee. It is to be elected by the
Board.
In 2006 Lew announced his Executive Committee and was informed at that time
also that it could not be done that way.
Now, I am floored at all you have written. I do not know if these actions
have actually taken place. The Executive Committee is only supposed to act on
items of urgency between regular sessions of the Board.
Any action taken by the Executive Committee must be ratified by the entire
Board. Please check Article VI Section 3 of the by-laws.
