I do it all the time, with both registered names and call. I don't share these names for fear somebody else may have them (or take them). Take Strauss for example, I found out only after I named him that there were two other dogs named Strauss (A Basset and a Bouvier) but neither of them are named for the same reason. Both of those dogs had registered names that dealt with Levi Strauss Jeans.
