[ SHOWGSD-L ] Puppy chewing off toes/Another theory

Front page of my local paper reads:
"Some wonder if ferret, not puppy, gnawed baby's toes".
Authorities confirmed Friday that the baby's parents also kept a ferret
inside their residence. Neighbors and authorities are arguing over who
gnawed the toes. Both the puppy and ferret are in quarantine pending
the investigation.
The parents remain in jail on a $50,000.00 bond (each).
The baby remains in the hospital.
They also have a two year old. Both children have been placed in the
custody of state social services.
