I'd let the puppy chase the cat unless it gets too bad and then I agree with
everyone -- teach the puppy leave-it. Chances are, especially if the cat has
claws, that the cat will be the most effective teacher.
Savannah who is a tough dog will molest the cat, Monkey, all night. Monkey,
every once in a while, will get enough and even though he doesn't have any
claws he'll turn the tables in a heart beat. We start laughing when we see
Savannah getting a little out of bounds. Sure enough, we suddenly hear a
whimper that turns into a pitiful scream and there she comes -- with Monkey
chasing her around the house. Eventually, Savannah gets close enough to leap
into one of our laps and buries her head in an armpit.
Kona would just as soon cats keep their distance, although he will allow one
of the cats to rub around on him and give him kisses. He's had a scratched
nose or two and realizes they are evil.
