I was the newcomer who read the list. It's a good thing I have a strong
stomach and my own mind.
I worm my dogs. I have a dog who has always tested negative, then a few
months down the line I see a roundworm in his stool. I've lived at two
different places with him, so I'm fairly sure it's not the clean up. At the
apartment there was no soil, poop was picked up off of rocks.
I haven't used the DE for a few months, too lazy to order it in the fall. I
use Ivomec for HW. And I wormed him at the beginnng of Nov. A few days ago I
found a roundworm in vomit. So for all of the chems I've been putting in his
system, using HW stuff for months, fecal tests giving negative results, he
still has roundworms. Turns out Morgan and Doe Zoe were right about skinny
boy.
Last I heard, the dose of Ivomec for HW was not strong enough to kill
intestinal worms. I'll dose him with Ivomec then go back on the DE, without
stopping this time.

What I find most astonishing, even puzzling is how UPSET people get over
other folks' use of wormers, or not, foods , vaccines, whatever .....it
always comes down to a pi**ing match, and WHY?????? Who CARES what another
person does worming or feeding. As I recall the initiator of the thread
asked a simple question about worming and people got all defensive as to MY
dogs don't get wormed like that ...or.....dogs SHOULD be wormed this way.
THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO DO SOMETHING RIGHT.
Can't we answer questions, and have a discussion about these things w/o all
the drama? lol.
I would HATE to be a newcomer to the list or the breed and read that stuff,
sheesh.
