This is what would happen with the Amish kennels. And from what I knew from
our neighborhood, the conditions were not all bad. But the quality of dogs was
not that great. Some got citations and were told to dismantle their cages,
kennels etc.
I also had a friend who raised CH pekes and Poms. They were kept in an A/C
room in cages. let out to exercise on concrete. They never touched grass
unless they were showing. The place was immaculate and the dogs seemed happy,
well fed and groomed. I'm talking about at least 15 of them. Very small
breeding facility, mostly show. Who is to say this is abuse?
I also remember that at that time AKC just did not have enough inspectors to go
around. And the local authorities do turn their backs here at least.
