What a lot of great info i received, quicker than a call to the vet :)
I think the 'nursing fairy" was around when i was not with the female which
i was with her for almost the last 24hrs except for 3 when i had to run into
work and my son checked on the mom and pups every half hour, because somehow
these little suckers gained about 25 grams some not quite as much but if i
remember correctly the leerburg video says 25 grams a day is a good thing for
newborns to gain for shepherds, these are not shepherds but they are the same
size as shepherd pups lol
i did get the fresh goats milk early in the AM with the baby bottles but the
little witches/warlocks were telling me to go to HECK they wanted no part,
so i just kept forcing them to be with mom, HOWEVER, i noticed that when i came
back from work, the female was laying sideways, she was sitting up and it
was harder for the pups to nurse IMO but she probably just relaxed so after
she
cleaned the crap out of them (no pun intended) she relaxed long enough for
them to nurse.... she was no way stressed by me being there, she loves me..
she wasn't nervous, she felt her job was clean first, eat later i guess lol
anyway... thanks so much i appreciate everyone sending out the help.. i am
not fully convinced they are out of the woods, i just am not as stressed,
hopefully they nurse normal (normal like my glutton shepherds do lol)
my son, who thinks he can name every animal that is in his arms reach has
named the litter to go with the Mom, the moms Name is Cassie, the 5 males are
Steve, Ronnie, Alan, Gary, and Leon, the girls are leslie and jojo, can anyone
figure out who he is tributing?? lol if you cant figure it out check out
his youtube video he's the one with the long curly hair... Yes everyone
that's our little "Harry Potter" at 15!!!
