The problem about discussing subject without total knowledge is trying to do
so with reason. Charges have been filed. They have been copied to some, and
are available. Also, the law does allow disclosure to those who would
benefit from that information such as in a club or other organization without a
worry about slander.
The main case had to do with a lecture to a group of horse breeders. The vet
described the pinning of a neck bone in the neck of a horse, and the horse
was identified. The owners sued for slander, and the Supreme Court decided that
the information would be of value to the club members, and therefore, was
not subject to slander laws.
I still stand for open disclosure of all complaints. If you can't stand to
be exposed, don't make the charges. If you are a subject of the charges, be
glad that you have a right to respond in public. We have had enough of closed
sessions in the past, let's get rid of them in the future. As members of
the GSDCA we have a real interest in any complaints about our board or other
members.
That's my story and I am sticking to it. Tom is a great attorney and writes
well. I am still working on it.
