GEEEZE , Ginger , are you MADDDDD !???? I wish that every other dog breeder
out there is as Mad ! Like the totel IDIOTS i have had to deal with.I too
have almost always removed the Dew Claws and rarely had one that even bled.
I watched my vet do it once and then did it myself ! No help either, With
the Shelties the Dew claws have to be removed for show. and I too ,Like Anja
, don't make silly vet trips except for a Reason , I had a dog die suddenly
. went out to the run and found him in the morning , Put him immedeiately to
the vet for the Necropsy , HE was going to get his OFA's, Almost all mine
have theirs Still have some more to do . ONE died after I thought he had
bloated again , but he hadn;t he has something wrong in the lowere Intestine

I give up.... people want to give up all their rights, go right ahead. My
luck I'll probably never have another litter anyway. I am too god damn busy
picking up the pieces for the morons out there that decide the dog doesn't
match the carpet so get rid of the dog
Or they are moving to another state and can't be bothered to take the dog
they have had for 10+ years (and I am NOT talking about rentals here).
I won't take a 3 day old litter to a vet's office to sit in the public
waiting room exposed to every damn disease on the face of the earth. THERE
ARE LAWS ON THE BOOKS to cover the horror scenarios ya'll are describing.
Why aren't they enforced????? Of course John is NOT condoning "self" done
c-sections or debarks...and both are ALREADY illegal.
So now, because somebody that is ALREADY breaking the law (which isn't being
enforced) *I* (generic) am forced to put my dog's life in jeopardy to suit
Gov Rendell and his ilk...who wouldn't know the first damn thing about
animal husbandry... they are led by the nose ring by PETA and H$U$. *I*
(generic) should be subjected to ever increasing tightening of the noose
because these beauracrats can't get off their duff and enforce the existing
laws.
Fact is I have removed hundreds of dewclaws over the last 30 years and
RARELY is there ever even a peep out of the puppy.. and I am quite often
doing them by myself, without help. I have docked many tails too back when
I worked with terriers and Min Pins... never a peep from them either.
But the worst part of this bill is that there is NO due proces... and the
ACCUSED must prove a negative. That is NOT how our system of justice is
supposed to work... the way this bill is written... say you rescue a dog
with a docked tail, or even buy one... there is NO evidence that it was done
by a vet, therefore YOU are automatically guilty and subject to all the
punishments/fines, etc therein. That is just so un-American it boggles the
mind. Any yet people are in favor of this.
